Today, 30th August, 2024, the Chairman of National Population Commission paid a courtesy visit to the Director-General/CEO of the National Council on Climate Change Secretariat (NCCCS), Dr. Nkiruka Maduekwe at the NCCCS office in Abuja.

The visit aimed to foster collaboration and explore areas of mutual interest between the NPC and NCCCS, particularly in addressing climate change and its implications for population and sustainable development.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the two leaders to discuss ways to leverage their respective organisations' expertise and resources to support Nigeria's climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts.

The courtesy visit underscores the NPC's commitment to interagency cooperation and its role in supporting Nigeria's sustainable development agenda through the generation of reliable data.

NPC Chairman was accompanied on the visit by the Federal Commissioner, Benue State, Hon. Barr. Mrs. Patricia Iyanya Kupchi; Federal Commissioner, Lagos State, Hon. Mrs. Saidat Olayinka Oladunjoye; Director-General, Dr. Osifo Tellson Ojogun; Director Population Studies and Coordinator Climate Change Unit, Hajia Aisha Abdulazeez Adamu; SA to the Chairman, Isiyaku Alhaji Husaini and DD/Protocol to Chairman, Mr. Azeez Amoo.
